【New Product Release】 Hybrid Polymer Capacitors High Capacitance, Type – PKV, PZK Series

1. Introduction
Rubycon have launched Conductive Polymer Aluminum Solid Electrolytic Capacitors (Hybrid type), which have been used in the automotive, communication, and industrial equipment markets, where high reliability is required, and have been responsible for the miniaturization, high performance, and long life of these capacitors. However, as sets become smaller and more densely packed, capacitors are required to have higher capacitance, smaller size, and more stable product performance under severe environmental conditions.
To meet these demands, Rubycon have developed PKV series (chip type) and PZK series (lead wire type), which have approximately 20% higher capacitance than the conventional products. We will continue to contribute to further downsizing, weight reduction, and performance improvement of devices.
2. Features
Our Conductive Polymer Aluminum Solid Electrolytic Capacitors (Hybrid type) have realized high performance characteristics such as high heat resistance, high ripple current, long life, low ESR, and excellent temperature characteristics by combining conductive polymer and originally developed functional liquid. The newly developed PKV series (chip type) and PZK series (lead wire type) maintain such high performance and employ a new high-capacitance foil to achieve the industry’s highest level of capacitance by approximately 20% higher than the conventional products (PJV/PZJ series).
In comparison with the electrolyte type aluminum electrolytic capacitor (our TGV series), the 35V φ10×10.5 size capacitance is approximately 1.8 times higher, ESR (20℃, 100kHz) is approximately 1/6, and rated ripple current (125℃, 100kHz) is approximately 5 times higher, thus significantly improving performance. Therefore, replacing conventional electrolyte type aluminum electrolytic capacitors with hybrid type capacitors will enable downsizing of equipment and higher performance.
